The second in the ACV's series, join the lads again in their hilarious romps as the trouble keeps on coming their way.
With the Islands under occupation, the lads have to bring their surgeon to assist a badly injured woman. It becomes complicated when they are ordered to rescue the two reporters that accompanied them on the Osprey Mission. They are almost free when one of them spots Air Force One coming into land at the Islands runway and sends a missile after it. A desperate fight for survival ensues.

Review ACV 1 and 2, I just got finished with Federation One from the Steven Gordon series. Unable to wait for the next book to come out, I went back to J.W. Murison's early works, ACVs. I started into the first book with gusto but soon became disenchanted with Lt. Murison's cavalier attitude which is reminiscent of Captain James T. Kirk's reputation when it comes to alien female girls.
There is enough action and adventures to keep the reader involved. You can see the developing style of this author. The characters in The Stephen Gordon series are more refined and (hopefully) appropriate for this future time period.

I would like to see the author revisit the ACVs team in 1500 or 1800's time period where swashbuckling and skullduggery were commonplace. The advanced Tech could be Claymores made with Damascus steel or the like and rifled flintlocks as the latest weapons.
Like the Four Musketeers; Duty, Honor, and Loyalty is what kept them together to pursue their mission. Which oddly enough, was to reclaim a stolen jewel to cover up the Queen's infidelity. The Highlanders have fought with distinction through many a battle. Their stories are hidden in myths and legends. I believe the author could bring to light their deeds in the telling.

ACV 2 Operation Island Green eBook J W Murison Jeannie Michaud Reviews

Thoroughly enjoyed your book. Did not particularly like the ending, even though a sequel is obviously in the works. An abbreviated phrase/dictionary Scottish to English would have made for a faster read. Missing punctuating marks and misspelling was a minor nuisance, this was your third book I read and found them all to be very entertaining. Keep it up mister Murison....
ACV's 2 Operation Island Green Excellent Author and a great read in this 2nd of the ACVs series with valid scenarios of aerial, navel and ground combat. Excellent author and a good read. Lots of 'inside' information on how-to-train special teams.
Hell of a lot going on here! Fun read, lots of computers, lots of battles, lots of hummida-hummida! Lots of Scottish brogue, good read, looking for the 3rd book!
Part 2 The United States has invaded Scotland and Jim and his ACV's are in the thick of the action, trying to delay the American troops. Fighting is fast and furious. Please read the first book before this, ACV's Operation Black Gold. I love these men, based on men the author knows, and want to know them too. This is as true a representation of the arrogance of greed and what men are willing to do to continue their way of life no matter what it costs. It also shows the best of us, selflessly fighting for what's right for all, not just the privileged few.
This is a silly military romp of the good guys whumpin the baddies ( Who just for once are them Yankees). But it is a great romp and I enjoyed it and the precursor very much. I have enjoyed several of Murison's books the whole Scot's as Warrior elite concept is fun and the language exactly what you would expect ( Strip Paint)

Its a fairy story but I like fairy stories especially with magic modern military things what go Bang. Also being a Nurse by trade I enjoyed the Casualty evac bit, though quite how it fits with the Golden hour is beyond me -)

Only downside is it doesn't really deal with gender too well and the main female character is not believeable
This is the second book in the series. The book follows a Lt. in the free Scottish Army some time in the future.Being a vet I can say that the scenes depicting combat are dead on. The suffering inflicted on men and women in war are horrendous. This is not a young adults book. The author plotted this book very tightly and is economical with his verbiage. The language in the book is written in accent so if you have never been to Scotland you may have a problem understanding some of the dialog.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am an author with six books published on . The only think I can find wrong with this book is that I did not write it. Other than that, it's a great read.

Pat Price
Newport Investigations series
The story is excellent. The spelling and misused words were horrible. I have also read #1 in the series, The Kilted Cowboy, and Teardrops in the Night Sky. #1 had some of the same problems and the others did not have these mistakes. I would have to stop and reread a line to understand what the correct word should have been. It really affect the reading of an excellent story. (5 + 0)/2 = 2.5 but the story makes me round it up not down.

I believe that the use of the Scottish dialect led to the story not being run through a spelling/grammer checker.

I intend to read the complete sample of other of Murison's stories before downloading them.

I still want to read #3 in the series but hope that these problems are not continued in the novel.
